Tough on Terror

Over the course of 2016, countries across the world have been terrorized by the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS). American  allies in France, Germany, Belgium, and Turkey have all been victims of wide-scale terrorist attacks at the hands of radical Islamic extremists. Sadly, the attacks have even reached our shores in San Bernardino and Orlando. These attacks show us that terrorism can strike any time, anywhere and we need a clear strategy to eradicate ISIS and destroy terrorism around the world.

Congressman Yoder believes that peace begins with strength and we must take the fight to ISIS before they bring the fight to us. He has fought for a strong, well-funded military, a secure border, and has demanded a plan from the Obama Administration to combat radical Islamic terrorism.

Congressman Yoder will continue to be tough on terror by:
  • Reversing the Obama Administration’s defense cuts that have reduced our capability and readiness to confront any threat across the world. Without the necessary resources, we cannot ask the brave men and women of our armed forces to sacrifice so much for our freedoms. We must give them the tools they need to be successful.
  • Keeping terrorists out of Kansas by stopping the President’s plan to close Guantanamo Bay because we do not need to jeopardize the safety and security of our communities by bringing the world’s most dangerous terrorists into our backyards.
  • Securing our border to protect and defend our homeland because we cannot afford to allow ISIS attackers to infiltrate our nation and threaten our way of life by crossing our porous borders without deterrence.
  • Pausing any refugee resettlement programs until we can properly and adequately vet each refugee because we have seen ISIS attackers enter Western European nations posing as refugees and attack innocent civilians. ISIS has publicly declared that they are trying to do the same in America and we cannot allow that to happen.
